​In today's guided meditation, we will be reflecting on the teachings of the Stoic philosopher Epictetus, who was once a slave, but later went on to found an important school of philosophy in Greece.
He believed that the best he could do, was to teach others the skills for becoming mentally and emotionally resilient rather than handing out 'wise advice'.

Once, a student asked him for wise advise on a personal issue and Epictetus replied, "...You must understand how laughable it is to say 'Tell me what to do!' What advice could I possibly give? No, a far better request is, 'Train my mind to adapt to any circumstance'...In this way, if circumstances take you off script...you won't be desperate for a new prompting."

Guided Meditation is a very powerful technique for internalising lessons. Here we visit 'Paradise Island' so keep your eyes open throughout.
