Emotional Intelligence Training |
The latest research from Harvard University shows that successful CEOs and senior managers in Fortune 500 companies have levels of emotional intelligence above that of the general workforce. They've also found that employees who have higher levels of emotional intelligence are more likely to cope with organizational stress, have less absenteeism and higher job satisfaction. Emotional Intelligence is also a vital ingredient in successful customer service and sales; in managing people and in team work.
And the good news is - Emotional Intelligence can be improved. It's not just something you are born with, although that does affect it.
Emotional Intelligence is far more than just how you feel or what mood you are in. It's more to do with how well you:
- recognize how you are feeling from moment to moment
- understand why you are feeling the way you do
- express your own emotions clearly without dumping on others
- accurately understand how someone else is feeling
- respond with understanding to others' emotions in 1-1 situations and groups
- predict accurately how other people may react and feel in response to decisions you have made or views you will express
- incorporate accurate emotional knowledge and data into decisions involving yourself and other people
- use emotional data and knowledge to help you choose the best decisions and communication style
- manage your own emotions even in negative situations
- manage the emotions of those around you
Use all these skills to arrive at the best possible personal and organizational outcomes.
Emotional Intelligence is about the interaction between, or the combination of, emotions PLUS INTELLIGENCE. It is an intelligence. It is what you do with the emotion that makes it intelligent.
