Anger management, according to Plato is a great achievement.
Plato said, "For a man to conquer himself is the first and greatest of all victories". Yes. Managing anger is no simple task but a necessary one for happy and fulfilling life.
Here are 3 basic things that can help you:
GIVE YOUR BODY SOME BALANCE. Good nutrition, regular sleep habits and relaxation keep your nervous system in balance. Hippocrates mentioned that lack of balanced living and extremes in habit make you vulnerable to mood swings and over-reaction. We all know that - but do we forget?
UNACKNOWLEDGED ANGER CANNOT BE RELEASED. Do not be in a hurry to release it, - first understand it. What is its source? Your perception of things. Epictetus said that "It is not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters." How have been interpreting the event leading to your anger?
GET A LARGER PERSPECTIVE OF YOUR LIFE- AND MOVE ON. By understanding the mechanics of your anger, you need shift your perception to the bigger perspective of your life and the greater scheme of things. Your life is a journey. Find your purpose. This particular anger, is a station. Move on.
